Cabin

I've realized that I've updated so much that you will actually have to go to older blogs to see everything I've just added. We better not get this far behind again!

We went to the cabin for the 4th of July and celebrated our aunt Sarah's 50th birthday. It was awesome.

We were able to boat the Green River above Warren Bridge. Here we are at our lunch stop so Paul and I could swap out.

I love this picture of Rockin' Willy!

Kaia drove us back in to the cabin. Look at the look of concentration on her face!

Colin enjoying the hot tub and Harry Potter.

Daddy-daughter bottle time.
Here everyone is gearing up for Government Rapid.

Here we are running Government Rapid. Kaia got to walk around this one and stayed on the shore. I tried to load the impressive video of Kris and Kieth running it in their canoe, but it wouldn't load. Bummer. They were amazing.

Hiking to the swimming home at Slickhorn Canyon. (This is NOT the swimming hole.)

Ok plant people, do any of you know what this is? (Oops, I forgot to rotate it. Sorry.)

Quiet on the water.
Little cowgirl in grandma Jenny's hat.

Her first ride in grandpa Mike's ducky.

Having fun in the water.

Paul had been making a hole in the sand with his feet. However, he didn't really know what he was doing. Here Topher is showing him how to really dig a hole. With his scooper of course! "How come you didn't know that?" (Topher)

Kaia's making her own hole...by eating the sand. Mmmmm.

Kaia's first river trip...the San Juan

It's Kaia's first river trip and she did it right! She was fabulous and had a ton of fun. Here she is chillin' in the Tropicana!

Hanging out at camp.

Napping in the tent.

Enjoying early morning coffee with grandpa Mike.

Enjoying the shade of the umbrella with grandma Jenny on the boat.
Big Bay State Park is located on Madeline Island. Here we are at the lake.
Paul and Kaia are exploring cliff jumping opportunities. Just kidding. Lake Superior is WAY too cold!

Hiking in Big Bay.

Feeling the frigid water.

Playing in the sand with grandpa.

Duluth, Bayfield, Madeline Island

Here's where Paul comes in. Here he is with Kaia at Lake Superior heading out to check out a lighthouse.

One of the many large iron ore ships on Lake Superior.

Here we are in Bayfield, Wisconsin waiting for the ferry to take us over to Madeline Island, one of the Apostle Islands in Lake Superior.

This is Burned-down Tom's. A local bar and hang-out. It got it's name because shortly after Tom purchased the bar it burned. He didn't have money to fix it so he propped up some tarps and called it good. It's been that way ever since. It's a pretty eclectic and very cool place.
Kaia wasn't as into it as we were and decided it was a good time to rest. You can see some of the quotes and "decorations" of the place in the background.
Hangin' with great-grandpa Tony.

Four generations with great-grandma Mardy, grandma Nancy, mama, and Kaia.

Four generations with great-grandpa John, grandma Nancy, mama, and Kaia.

Big smiles with great-grandma Kay.

Kaia with my goddaughter Libby. She was so good and cute playing with Kaia.

Oh yes, the introduction to solid foods...rice cereal. Grandma is helping Kaia shovel it in. The high chair is an antique now. It was my great-grandma's and EVERYONE in the family has been fed in this chair. Now Kaia has too.
Hello all!
We are finally updating our blog! Paul had some troubles with the site while he was home during daddy-daughter days and we have been out of town since I took over. Kaia and I have traveling! Any semblance of a routine she may have had before is now totally gone, but we've been having fun! Kaia took her first plane ride and was AMAZING! Thank goodness. You all know the look mom's with babies get as they board the plane. The please-don't-let-them-be-sitting-by-me look. Yeah, we experienced that first hand, but then received praises about what a great passenger she was. Phew! That brings us to Minnesota! Kaia finally got to meet my side of the family! It was wonderful. She got to meet almost everyone. It was great for me too. It sure is hard being away from so many loved ones. I'm going to have to break the Minnesota pictures into chunks. Kaia and I were there for about a week visiting family and friends and then Paul joined us and we went up to Duluth and Madeline Island. Enjoy!

Here is Kaia playing ducks and geese with grandpa Steve. By the end of the trip she really was blowing into the call and making noise!

Here she is with grandpa Dave at my uncle Greg's wedding. Great grandma Betty is in the background.

My cousin Kiley's daughter Lilly and Kaia became instant best friends. Here they are out of their fancy clothes after the wedding playing together. How cute that they are holding hands!

Chillin'

With grandpa on his bike, Fargo.
